Control Systems

Wadsworth's STEP 50A and STEP 500 climate controllers make the heating and cooling equipment in your greenhouse work together. They help you save energy and create ideal growing conditions for your crop. When your greenhouse is too hot or too cold these controllers react gradually. They operate just enough equipment to bring temperatures back in line. Both controllers offer seperate day and night temperature settings.

The STEP 50A and STEP 500 controllers let you maintain a "single, total environmental program."

STEP 50A

STEP 50A
The STEP 50A is the sensible choice for greenhouses under an acre with one or two vents. With its three cooling stages, you can easily integrate three stages of fan and a vent that opens and closes in three steps.

  • Independent day and night temperature settings and programmable cooling lockout disables all or part of cooling at night.
  • Two stages of heating and three stages of cooling to save energy.
  • Provides a modulating output voltage for proportional steam and hot water valves.
  • After a power failure, all equipment is off, comes on gradually to controll temperature.
  • All stages have a color coded manual override switch and a pilot light.
  • Includes an aspirated temperature sensor to read true air temperature and a 10 Amp DPDT load relay for each stage.
  • Locking door secures settings.

STEP 500
STEP 500
For growers with larger environments or more equipment, the STEP 500 adds two more cooling stages and an additional stage of heat.
  • Independent day and night temperature settings and programmable cooling lockout with outdoor sensor, disables all or part of your cooling on cold nights.
  • Three stages of heating and five stages of cooling to save energy and adapt to sophisticated modern greenhouses.
  • Digital meter shows greenhouse temperature.
  • Provides a modulating output voltage for proportional steam and hot water valves.
  • After a power failure, all equipment is off, comes on gradually to controll temperature.
  • All stages have a color coded manual override switch and a pilot light.
